The New TAG Heuer Carrera Lady

Elegant and enduring, the new Carrera Lady timepiece features a design that enhances the entire collection. From bold colours to the improved readability of the dial, the revamped Carrera Lady timepieces deftly combine performance and style. With their feminine flair and understated sophistication, any one of the new models in the Carrera Lady 36 mm collection will make the ideal accessory for the discerning and confident modern urban woman. And who to communicate this better than model, actress and TAG Heuer Brand Ambassador Cara Delevingne.

A glance at the dial reveals refined indexes and hands. The dial is available in white mother-of-pearl, purple, grey, blue and black, and is perfectly legible thanks to its markedly pure design. A seconds scale is printed on the flange around the dial, and is surrounded by either a smooth or diamond-set bezel. A final detail that sets the new Carrera Lady wristwatch apart from their predecessors is the date window at 3 o’clock – the frame boasts an intriguing trapezoidal shape, as opposed to the square shape of the original.

The 36 mm stainless-steel timepieces now feature curved lugs and a water-resistance to 10 bar. TAG Heuer offers three different straps for the new collection: a brushed and polished stainless-steel bracelet, a calfskin strap (in black or blue) or an alligator leather strap with a satin finish (in purple, taupe or grey).
The case size in combination with the automatic movement makes the Carrera collection a modern watch that stands out from the other ladies‘ watches of the avant-garde manufacturer. With its 36-mm-diameter, the case is larger than those of the women’s watches that TAG Heuer generally creates, but is ideal for a statement-making piece that is robust yet classy.

The new TAG Heuer Carrera Lady is equipped with either a quartz or an automatic movement. The automatic calibre 5 works with a frequency of 4 Hz and offers a power reserve of 38 hours.

The case back of the quartz-powered models is stamped with the TAG Heuer logo and collection name, along with a cross-hatched pattern that serves as a nod to the Carrera line’s motor-racing heritage. Alternatively, the mechanical movement counterparts feature a sapphire case back that provides an unobstructed view of the automatic calibre within.

Audemars Piguet and the Code 11.59 Automatic Chronograph

Audemars Piguet has introduced a new watch line called Code 11.59 at the beginning of this year. Once again, the watch manufacturer was faced with the challenge of setting new standards. From the very beginning, the company has been working with the best craftsmen, who perform their profession at the highest level. Nevertheless, Audemars Piguet is constantly trying to penetrate new fields of highest craftsmanship and to advance the technical perfection of its own procedures and production standards.
With 13 models, including four complications, code 11.59 represents one of the most comprehensive launches in the history of Audemars Piguet. Also, for the first time the Manufacture is presenting a collection designed for both men and women.

The selfwinding chronograph’s deep blue or black lacquered dial offers a perfect mirror finish. The pink or white gold case echoes the polished gold curved indexes and singular numeral at 12 o’clock as well as the raised logo and long stick hands. The chronograph counters are circled by gold threads with polished V angles, a difficult finishing on lacquered dials. At the 3 o’clock position you will find the subdial for the hours, at 9 o’clock the one for the minutes. The small second is placed at 6 o’clock and at 4.30 Audemars Piguet has lodged the date window. The latter blends in seamlessly in the background of the dial.
Audemars Piguet has lacquered the inner bezel – depending on the version – in blue or black. The dial is protected by a sapphire crystal which was specially designed for this collection. It is complex, double curved and glareproofed and with its arched profile it embodies the watch’s contemporary design. The glass’s internal surface is shaped like a dome, while its external surface is vertically curved from 6 to 12 o’clock. Its shape perfectly integrates the extra-thin bezel and extends from edge to edge. The play of depth, perspective and light creates a unique visual experience.

The new in-house calibre 4401 symbolizes Audemars Piguet’s constant quest for innovation. This calibre is endowed with an instant-jump date indication, integrated column wheel chronograph and flyback function that enables to re-start the chronograph without stopping and resetting it first. It has 70 hours of power reserve, as well as a dedicated pink gold beautifully openworked oscillating weight invisible through the sapphire crystal case back. This calibre also presents reinforced chronometry.
The movement operates at a frequency of 4 Hz or 28,800 vibrations per hour and consists of 367 individual parts.

The Selfwinding Chronograph is housed in a 41-mm-case with a water-resistance of 3 atm and is fitted with a hand-stitched large square scale blue or black alligator strap.

A New Limited Edition by Meccaniche Veloci

Watch manufacturer Meccaniche Veloci presents a unique new timepiece from the QuattroValvole collection, the fruit of a collaboration with Nardi, the Italian firm known for making traditionally crafted steering wheels and working with the greatest names in the automobile industry (let us just say: Ferrari) for more than ninety years. The result of this cooperation is the QuattroValvole Nardi Edition.
With shared conceptual and stylistic intentions, the new timepieces represent the passion that the two brands share for the world of beautiful vehicles, as well as attention to detail. Drawing on their Italian roots, Meccaniche Veloci and Nardi have a joint philosophy: producing high-quality creations through the use of selected materials, specific production processes and unique style and design.

The watch dial presents an opaque surface with a delicate guilloché weave. As well as demonstrating the high quality of traditional watchmaking, this finish also renders the dial more precious and clearly recalls the harmonious design of Nardi’s most exclusive pedigree steering wheels that are still hand-crafted to this day.
Four small dials edged in blue in tribute to Nardi’s colours stand out against the QuattroValvole dial. The two brands‘ logos appear at the centre. All the hours and minutes hands are coated with Super-LumiNova and the seconds function is fulfilled by the small red hand at the bottom right of the dial, while the date may be read through a circular aperture with the dial above.
The Meccaniche Veloci QuattroValvole Nardi shows four independent timezones; the main dial shows hours, minutes and the date.

Featuring a 49-mm-case with anti-reflective sapphire crystal, the QuattroValvole Nardi watches are driven by the calibre MV8802. The in-house calibre allows two different time zones to be displayed simultaneously and independently, an expression of both the fleeting nature of time and space and their precise mastery. On the case (which is water-resistant up to 5 atm, by the way), four crowns positioned adjacent to the four dials allow each individual time zone to be adjusted.
The automatic movement works at a frequency of 28,800 oscillations per hour and provides a power reserve of approximately 48 hours.

The strap is directly attached to the case via a system that does not require lugs. Meccaniche Veloci opted for black leather with green stitching and a steel folding clasp.

Von der Meccaniche Veloci QuattroValvole Nardi gibt es nur 50 Stück.

Watch Out for the New Richtenburg Diamond Line

This spring, Richtenburg presents a new collection for the ladies, which offers a lot. As always, the watch manufacturer has devoted itself to its new creations with a great deal of attention to detail. Each of the four models of the Diamond Line is offered in various versions – in stainless steel or with PVD coating and with different colored dials.

The Belana is a ladies‘ watch with a classic style. Richtenburg has given it a modern look with a large second and lance-shaped hands. In order to provide sufficient space for the huge subdial, Richtenburg has placed the Roman numerals only in the upper half of the dial and the numeral at twelve o’clock was replaced by a diamond.
Richtenburg provides six different versions of the Belana, including two trendy bi-coloured versions; with a light or dark dial and matching ceramic inlays in the bracelet.
The case with the elegantly integrated lugs has a diameter of 36 mm and is water resistant to 5 atm.

The Richtenburg Gesa is a simple three-hand watch with a date window. The dial is dominated by the applied Roman numerals and a red seconds hand. A diamond sits at twelve o’clock. In order to guarantee easy readability, Richtenburg has equipped the hands with luminous material.
The Gesa comes in a case with a diameter of 36 mm and a water resistance of 5 atm.
Richtenburg offers five different versions of the Gesa; all equipped with a leather strap, elegant and extremely versatile.

The Richtenburg Innessa is a model for the more unusual taste. This watch also displays hours, minutes, seconds and a date at six o’clock. The right  side of the dial features four diamond hour-markers and the large company logo, while the rest of the dial is dominated by a stylized tiger head with piercing red eyes.
The Innessa has a diameter of 36 mm. You can choose between a stainless steel version with gold or pink gold coating and two bi-colour models.

The last model of the Richtenburg Diamond Line is the slim Vivana. This watch is for the more playful among us. It comes with stars and a glittering crescent moon on the dial, which together with the leather straps form a colorful unit. The Vivana also features a diamond at the twelve o’clock position.
The small case measures only 28 mm in diameter. Richtenburg offers six different versions of this wristwatch.

All models of the Richtenburg Diamond Line are powered by a Swiss quartz movement.

With this new collection Richtenburg has combined the best of all worlds. The Swiss movement is running smooth and reliable, while the watches remain affordable and meet every taste due to the multitude of variants offered.

Made From Damascus Steel: The New Sinn

Where functionality defines design and every little detail serves to highlight the innovative technology at play, it’s a fair assumption to suspect Sinn at work. Since its establishment in 1961, the company has continuously focused on high-quality mechanical watches combining a traditional sense of quality with advanced solutions. This has repeatedly resulted in the use of new watchmaking materials; among those was Submarine Steel in 2005 and Damascus Steel in 2016. The 1800 Damaszener which we are introducing today, follows on from this tradition.
Damascus Steel has fascinated humankind for centuries. It gained its legendary reputation in the making of swords, knives and other blades. Damascus steel is a combination of at least two different types of steel, layered to create a fascinating surface design.

In order to perfectly enhance the characteristic texture of Damascus steel – an organic pattern of alternating bands of light an dark – the one-piece dial and central part of the case is forged from a complete steel block rather than designed as separate components, as is customary. As a result, the Damascus pattern on the dial continues across the entire case to create a fascinating and impressive whole. Thanks to the use of Tegiment Technology, the case is especially scratch-resistant. Sinn also made the crown and the bow as well as the pin buckle from Damascus steel.
The case has a diameter of 43 mm and is measuring 10.4 mm in height; it is also water-resistant up to 10 atm.

In this watch, everything comes down to the beautiful characteristic pattern of the Damascus steel. Nothing distracts from it, because Sinn decided to keep the watch as simple as possible. It only shows hours, minutes and seconds as well as the date in a small black window at six o’clock. The slim indices and hands are standing out distinctly which makes the wristwatch easy to read. Thanks to the luminous coating this is also true at night. All this is protected by a sapphire crystal.

The Sinn 1800 Damaszener is powered by a reliable, Swiss made automatic movement, the ETA 2892-A2. It works at a frequency of 4 Hz and provides a power reserve of 42 hours.

The Sinn 1800 Damaszener is a limited edition of only 100 pieces.

Maurice Lacroix Masterpiece Gravity Limited Edition

Maurice Lacroix has always been a young minded company with the capacity to create interesting timepieces. In 2014, the brand released a new watch, the Masterpiece Gravity. It stood apart from other watches, courtesy of its iconic design and impressive craftsmanship. Now, the company has unveiled a new and exclusively version of the Masterpiece Gravity; limited to just 25 examples.

Maurice Lacroix believes, a true Masterpiece should captivate its wearer with a richly appointed dial and mechanical virtuosity. So, the Masterpiece Gravity Limited Edition sets aside convention with its design.

The hours and minutes are displayed on an off-centered dial. The hands are lined with yellow Super-LumiNova and they sit above a black checkered surface. The latter features two securing screws and the brand logo and name. Encircling the centre of the dial is a vibrant yellow hour track incorporating black Arabic numerals and white applied indexes, also treated with Super-LumiNova, providing excellent legibility even at night. The off-centre dial is framed with a black minuterie, detailed with crisp white markings.
A small seconds display is located in the lower portion of the dial. Again, it features yellow and grey tones. The prominent hand, incorporating black Super-LumiNova, and large-format numerals ensure excellent readability. The periphery of the small seconds display features a brushed finish and is cantillevered, seemingly floating above the adjacent bridges.
The time indications sit atop a black gold DLC bridge adorned with colimaçon motif and endowed with gleaming bevelled edges. Adjacent to this, the other bridges are sandblasted and brushed.

The Maurice Lacroix Masterpiece Gravity Limited Edition features a 43-mm-case, bearing a anthracite PVD-coating. It is water resistant to 5 atm.
Inside the case works the Calibre ML230. The manufacture movement is showcasing Maurice Lacroix’s watchmaking expertise. The oscillator is positioned dial-side, allowing the wearer to observe the hairspring and balance wheel brim with life. The sapphire crystal caseback makes the high-end finishing of the movement visible.
The automatic movement works at a frequency of 2.5 Hz and provides a 50-hour power reserve.
The timepiece is complimented by a black leather strap featuring yellow stitching.

Limited Edition: Zenith’s Newest Corporation

Mr. Porter, one of the online destinations for men’s style, has announced that it has partnered with Swiss watch manufacturer Zenith and British watch customiser Bamford Watch Department in creating a new watch. Co-creating a project and product of this nature is a first for all three partners in this undertaking. Mr. Bamford and his team worked alongside Zenith in the design of the watch, which was then entirely developed and produced in-house at Zenith’s Manufacture.

Based on the Zenith Heritage 146 model, the Chronomaster El Primero Mr. Porter takes cues from several of the brand’s historical design elements. These subtle touches include the tachymeter inspired by a 1971 El Primero, a red seconds hand, aesthetic reminders of a vintage chronograph case and centric sub-dial rings hark back to the old Zenith recorder tell-tales and motion detecting clock.
Its unique dial comes in the colour „Solar Blue“, also sporting a terrific colour gradient. The Chronomaster El Primero Mr. Porter comes with a central hour and minutes hand, as with a central chronograph seconds. At 9 o’clock you’ll find the running seconds, at 3 o’clock Zenith has placed the 30-minute-counter of the chronograph. No date window disturbs the beautiful synchronicity and balance of the dial.
The most distinctive feature – and our favourite by far – are the unusual minute-markers and the internal tachymeter scale. The latter makes for a clean, sleek bezel. Above the dial arches a domed sapphire crystal with anti-reflective treatment on both sides.

The stainless steel case sports an universal diameter of 38 mm and is water-resistant up to 10 atm. The case back is transparent and engraved so the owner can observe the oscillating weight with Côtes de Genève motif.
The Chronomaster El Primero Mr. Porter is powered by the powerful calibre El Primero 4069. It works at a frequency of 5 Hz and provides a power reserve of at least 50 hours.

The Chronograph comes with a blue Alcantara strap featuring white stitching designed to complement the white dial markings.
Each of these 25 limited-edition watches will be exclusively available on Mr. Porter.

Passionate and Glamorous: The New PanoMatic Luna

Glashütte Original celebrated on the International Day of the Kiss, July 6, 2018, the magic of love and passion. With a special limited edition, that truly comes from the heart, a beautiful women’s watch.
Studded with diamonds and rubies, the PanoMatic Luna proudly wears the colour of love, permitting this mechanical ladies watch to give its classic moon phase display a new, exceptionally enticing appearance.

The dial of the new PanoMatic Luna unites two romantic elements in an elegant composition. On the background of a white mother-of-pearl dial, the softly curved moon in relief and the silver-coloured, starry night sky reveal a poetry all their own. At 2 o’clock, one finds the vaulted opening of the moon phase display. The curve of the moon is the product of great manual skill and attentive diamond milling in the watchmaker’s own dial manufactory in Pforzheim, Germany.
This spectacle of the changing crescent moon is complemented by 18 ruby indexes, which offer luminous red reflections on the opposite of the dial, and serve as a frame for the off-centre hour and minute display. They are positioned together with the small seconds – in classic Pano style – along a vertical axis in the left half of the dial, while the moon phase display and characteristic Glashütte Original Panorama Datum adorn the right side.

What, without the brilliance of the stars, would a romantic night sky be? The bezel on the new PanoMatic Luna is set with 64 brillant-cut diamonds that reflect light with every movement. They form a glamorous frame for the round, 39.4 mm stainless steel case, whose crown is adorned on the right side by a ruby. Sapphire crystal, antireflective on both sides, assures optimal views from the dial side.
Ticking within the PanoMatic Luna is the manufactory’s own calibre 90-12 automatic movement, which can be admired through the sapphire crystal case back. The latter opens up the view to the refined decorations on the heart of the watch, and to the coveted duplex swan-neck fine adjustment from Glashütte Original. A great many other traditional elements of Glashütte watchmaking offer irrefutable proof of the origin of the watch, among the the three-quarter plate and characteristic Glashütte decorative finishes.

The watch is held in place on the wrist by a radiant red Louisiana alligator leather strap, which together with a pin buckle ensures a secure and stylish fit. As mentioned earlier, this PanoMatic Lunar is a limited edition of only 50 pieces.

Anniversary Watch: Meister Chronoscope Terrassenbau

Junghans introduced an anniversary watch last month to mark the centenary of an architectural masterpiece by Philipp Jakob Manz. The terrace building in Schramberg is one of the most spectacular industrial buildings worldwide to be built on a sloping site. At the beginning of the 20th century there was an increasing requirement for workplaces in the already cramped valley in Schramberg. The nine-stepped terrace building was built directly on the slope, in less than two years. As a result, each watchmaker could benefit from direct daylight at the workplace. For decades, the building was the centerpiece of the Junghans factory.
2018 sees the monument to industrial architecture celebrates its 100th birthday, with 100 years of architectural history commemorated with a special timepiece – the limited edition Meister Chronoscope Terrassenbau.

Junghans offers two different versions of this watch and both incorporate the distinctive elements of the industrial monument in Schramberg into their design: the minute track of the dial reflects the meandering design of the wall decorations in the terrace building, whilst the dark green of the wall tiles in the stairways can be found in the alligator leather strap. The case back delivers a direct view of the architectural work: an engraved image of the terrace building.
Hours, minutes and the chronograph second are shown by central hands. The running second lies at 9 o’clock, the 30-minute-counter at 12 o’clock and the 12-hour-counter at 6 o’clock. The hands are coated with Lume and the dial is protected by a convex hard plexiglass with coating for enhanced scratch resistance.

Inside the Meister Chronoscope Terrassenbau watches works an automatic movement, the J880.1. It offers a power reserve of up to 48 hours. The cases feature a diameter of 40.7 mm and are water resistant up to 3 atm.

With a limited edition of 100 examples, the Meister Chronoscope Terrassenbau features a gold case. Inspiration for the champagne-coloured dial with the three matt silver subdials was the stairway of the terrace building, which are in beige and white. The stainless steel version is limited to 1,000 watches and has a silver-plated dial.
